Making new traditions

How many of you guys made and decorated gingerbread houses growing up? I was not one of them. I'm not sure why, but my mom made a crap ton (I'm talking over 5 kinds) of cookies every year and worked a full time job so my guess is there wasn't really time.
I decided this year we would start a new tradition and give it a try! My son LOVED it! He actually sat for 70 minutes and put each piece of candy on. He eats gluten free so we can't eat our house, but next year I think I'll make the pieces from scratch. I think I'll also go for more organic chocolate and other "better for you" candy next year as he ate so much of it in the process! ;)
