Outfit: Arm Slit Sexy

shoedazzlewedgesdiy
Top: Threadsence, Tank: Dots, Shorts: Old Navy, Shoes: Shoedazzle, Watch and Bracelet: C/O Kristin Hassan, Ring: Self made (I SPY DIY craft), Necklace: Lia Sophia, Sunnies: Michael Kors

I can't say enough good things about this top! I felt like I was just wearing a tee and shorts, but my hubby kept telling me how sexy I looked. I couldn't figure it out and then realized he was a fan of the arm slits! Who knew sexy to boys could be so subtle. ;) I felt pretty in it, but not sexy so I was so confused. Boys are so weird! lol What do you think ladies, just looks cozy right?
I am also rocking my favorite braided top knot. For a how-to tutorial to get this top knot look, check here.

*In other news, these shoes are now up for sale in my closet!

Outfit: Just Fabulous Colored Crop Denim

justfabstapleringcrop jeans
Blazer: Lush via Threadsence, Crop Denim and Heels: C/O Just Fabulous, Tank: Dots, Ring: C/O Kristin Hassan, Necklace: Jewelmint, Sunnies: Michael Kors

Ummm, how amazing are these jeans?! I had no idea Just Fabulous not only had amazing shoes, bags, and jewelry, but also great denim! I went with a colored crop, but they have flare, boot cut, skinny, etc. I strongly recommend you check their denim out. LOVE the fit. They run about a size big so you also feel super skinny as you go down a size. ;) Hey, it's the little things.....

Outfit: Brunch Atire

bcbg topIMG_27862toplarge ringheels
Top: Swap w/ Kaitlyn (BCBG), Cami: Dots, Jeans: 7 for all Mankind, Jewelry: C/O Kristin Hassan, Shoes: C/O Just Fabulous

This is what I wore to Mother's Day brunch this year. I rarely wear black pants but I decided I wanted to wear the top Kaitlyn swapped with me and black jeans were the best I could do as far as matching this day. ;)
I super love my new heels from Just Fab, so I was very excited to find that they were tall enough to wear with my pants (yes, they require a 5-6 inch heel, but I love them anyway;)! Beautiful right?! I just love the faux lace up detail and the buckle.
Now lets talk jewelry. Here is me wearing more of the Athen's collection for Passport To Style. How amazing is that ring?! Keep check back at to see when this baby is released (I think it's next week sometime) and in the meantime shop shop shop! This collection is ONLY for sale 2 and 1/2 more weeks and then it's gone for good.

Outfit: Print Pants

IMG_2147IMG_2123IMG_2153IMG_2140
Blazer: Urban Outfitters (similar), Pants and Cami: Dots, Shoes: Jessica Simpson, Necklace and Cuff: C/O Jewelmint, Ring: Vintage

This outfit combines 2 things I said I would NEVER wear, print pants and harem pant. I guess never say never right?! lol
When I saw these pants at Dots for $18.80 I decided I had to try them. I kind of love them. I obviously do not need any extra hip shape added (shout out child bearing hips! lol), but the print was just so eye catching I figured why not.
What do you think, love or hate? Do you own print pants or harem pants? Is this a trend you would try? Lets be clear, I do not plan on buying tons of them, one is enough for me, but I am glad I tried something out of my box. ;)

WINGS Event: 1 of 2

I attended an event for the charity WINGS (women in need growing stronger) over the weekend and had an amazing time. It was called Tastes Take Flight: sip, sample, and shop and I did just that!
I decided to break it down into 2 posts. Today: Shopping and Sampling (food and wine), and tomorrow's post: meeting Katie Workman.
Here is what I wore to the event:

Dress: H&M, Lace Vest: Dots, Shoes: Shoemint, Ring: C/O Sole Society, Blue bracelet: Kristin Hassan, Watch: Fossil, Bag: Coach, Earrings: Erin Gallagher's Gem Bar

Outside the ballroom there was the WINGS resale shop, book signing (tomorrow's post), and 1 shopping vendor. Inside the ballroom was were all the other food and shopping vendor's were at. My aunt (Margaret McSweeney) also hosted the event and had cooking demos going on front stage while people were walking around sampling and shopping. So fun!

There was so much food to try (but I got it done! lol). Here are a few of my favorite treats:
Cheesey Bread from Wild Asparagus (Barrington, IL): This stuff way beyond amazing. Melted in my mouth!
IMG_2085
Eggplant Bruschetta from Agio Italian Bistro (Palatine, IL): What a lovely twist on bruschetta! I've never thought to make it on top of fried/baked eggplant before, but I now NEED to try to recreate this! ;)
IMG_2090
Ratatouille from L'Eiffel Bistro (South Barrington, IL): I loved this one! Perfect bitsized goodness.
IMG_2102
Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling: This was one of my favorite wines I sampled. It was sweet, crisp, and I actually bought myself a few bottles.

I did some resale shopping and found 2 great tops! The mint halter I found for $9 and the Talbots cardigan with tags on it (retail $89) I got for $25! AMAZING!
I also got this beautiful brown linen jacket (level 99) from a store called Grass Roots.

Here are some more photos of what they carry over at Grass Roots (205 South Cook St. Barrington, IL 60010). The owner Todd was so cool and he and his wife also supports a lot of local and US brands and vendors. I SUPER love the leather cuffs which are all made of vintage belts! They carry everything from Big Star to Free people and have rock & roll onsies and diaper bags too! I will for sure be hitting this shop up again. Really loved their style!

All and all I had an amazing time. I hope WINGS raised a lot of money and I look forward to their next event!
Check back tomorrow to see my meet and great with Katie Workman!

CBN Event: Dots

The Chicago Blogger Network teamed with Dots for a night filled with shopping, a styling contest, professional photography, cupcakes, champagne, and candy! I had a blast! Here is what I wore to the event: IMG_2001IMG_2000IMG_2017IMG_2007Dress: via ThirtySomethingFashion Box Service, Shoes: C/O Just Fabulous, Jacket: C/O Sheinside, Necklace: Windsor, All Braceltes: Kristin Hassan, Ring: J Good, Bag: Coach
Dots just opened a Hillside, IL location (The Hillside Town Center, 120 S. Mannheim Rd. Hillside, IL 60162) and I was blown away! They literally carry anything you could possibly need. Appeal, shoes, belts, under garments, jewelry, bags, and even lip gloss & nail polish! Everything (with the exception of some shoes and outerwear) is under $40!! Score! And to be honest, most items were either $14.80 and $18.80. They have all sizes 0-24 and everything seemed age appropriate for teens through mid 40's. Here are some shots of the store and the amazing treats they had waiting for us: IMG_2032IMG_2031IMG_2036IMG_2035IMG_2029IMG_2030
I like to call this area SHOE HEAVEN! ;) The selection was truly amazing. How did I not know about Dots before this?!IMG_2037IMG_2038There was a style challenge and this is the outfit I tried on. I had better pictures taken of me by their photographer and will post them when I have them.
It was my first time wearing print pants and I ended up buying them. Kinda LOVE them. They are so light weight and I adore the fit. IMG_2039IMG_2042
In the end, I walked out one happy girl! ;) Lots of new clothes, a $50 gift card (which I used right away), and some other goodies too!
