Bookbus - color to communicate!

*

Peter Thuvander and Martin Hedenström from design firm Muungano designed this lovely library bus for the northern town of Kiruna, Sweden.

I think it's great to have books come to you ... and in such a colorful, youthful design!

The bus supplies traditional printed material as well as new digital media and also functions as a place for people to communicate on the web and enable meetings between different groups in the society.

The bus includes a library, a small cinema, computer games, a music listening couch, internet station and personal service.

Literary jewels by Jeremy May

Well i love my books but i would have never thought of wearing them as accessories ... If you wonder how that is possible, Jeremy May has the answer: Littlefly jewellery is made by laminating hundreds sheets of paper together, then carefully finishing to a high gloss. The paper is selected and carefully removed from a book, and the jewellery re-inserted in the excavated space.

I found this blog that decided not to let that passer by that catches your eye, to just..pass by - so she photographs them - face and legs.

Pencil Crayon Jewelry by Maria Cristina Belluci

*
I absolutely love this! i always liked pencils, buying and seeing them on my desk all together like that!
Italian Designer Maria Cristina Bellucci created those original pencil crayon jewelry, after working for several years as a theater costume and accessories maker. The pieces are made using fragments of pencils that have been attached together and formed into a variety of shapes. The forming process reveals the interiors of the pencils, showcasing the wood and the colored lead.

ghost

I just couldn't help myself from posting another video of Sarah Doyle. I like this one 'cause it reminds me of the plastic bag scene from the film American Beauty.

Ghost from Sarah Doyle on Vimeo.

"And that's the day I knew there was this entire life behind things, and... this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... and I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in. "
