Outfit: Autism One- Day 3 of 3

I attended Autism One on Saturday for my 3rd and final day. I was BEYOND excited to see the key note speaker, Jenny McCarthy! Here is  what I ended up wearing:mink pink dress autism one
Dress: Mink Pink via ThirtySomethingFashion Box Service, Bag: Coach, Shoes: Victoria's Secret, Necklace: Oh, Poppy!, Wrist Wrap: Kristin Hassan, Sunnies: Loft, Belt: Dolce Vita

Let me start by saying I am a HUGE Jenny McCarthy fan. When I first got pregnant with my son I read Belly Laughs (seriously such a funny book to read when you are pregnant), I next read Baby Laughs, and Life Laughs.
When we first realized that our son may be autistic, I then read her book Louder then Words. This book changed my world. I remember balling as I read it, but in the end it gave me a bit of hope.
Since my son's diagnosis, we have bought almost all her Teach to Talk videos and my kids are obsessed with them.
Outside of the books and the fact I feel like she has had a positive influence on my life, I loved her on MTV's Singled out. I also super love that she is hosting the new NBC show "Love in the Wild". Yes, it is smut TV, but I like a little smut TV in my life.
So, I showed up 30 minutes early and got all the way up to the second row for her lecture. SHE WAS AMAZING. She's smart, funny, and just a great mom/role model to have in this autism journey so many of us are on.
Here she is speaking:

And here's me in line waiting to meet her, have her sign my Autism One catalog, and get a photo:

The closer I got to her, the more I froze. I have never been shy or scared in front of famous people, but she scared the hell out of me! lol
I wanted to tell her how much she has been a positive influence on me, I wanted to thank her for getting all this info out to us, I wanted to try not to cry and be a crazy fan. I froze. I went mute. I said hi and I'm pretty sure I told her I loved her. (lowers head and shakes it).
She was just as beautiful in person, she was even nicer that I thought she would be, I for sure feel fortuniate to have met her!

Here is all the info and coupons I walked away with after my 3 days . Yes, it was a lot to take in. Yes, it was overwhelming at times, but all and all I am so happy I made myself go. I got so much out of it and can't wait to raise the bar a bit at my home, after all, I am a warrior mom!

Dressing to Music: Norah Jones- She's 22

I am in LOVE with the new Norah Jones record. Not just a song or 2, but the album is amazing. This is one of my favorites on the record, but I'm sure I'll have another "dressing to music" inspired my Norah Jones in the near future. ;) Here is what I put on as I slow danced around my room: forever 21 blousehouse of harlow9 west shoes
Blouse: Forever 21, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: 9 west, Teal Ring: House of Harlow, Necklace: Oh, Poppy!, Wrist Wrap: Kristin Hassan

What do you think? Are you a Norah Jones fan or not so much?

Latest Obsessions

Here are 2 things I am obsessing over lately:
IMG_2428
Banana Republic Candle: Pacific Coast sent.
This candle is BEYOND! My home smells amazing and this bad boy burns forever! Okay, maybe not forever, but I've burned it for over 10 hours now and there's not even a dent in it. At $24 a pop, I think it's a steal! ;)

Oh, Poppy! by Girl in Closet.
I only have 2 necklaces (so far) but I find myself wearing them everyday! I really love wearing them together too. The quality is amazing (which I was kinda surprised by as the price points are between $17-$32) and construction is great as well.  I used to make jewelry for a living so when I say it's well made, I mean it! ;) Plus Veronika is adorbs and I love her blog, so it's just one more thing to love about this super talented lady!

Outfit: Family Day

IMG_2407IMG_2416
Dress and Sandals: Target, Jacket: Gap, Wrist Wrap: C/O Kristin Hassan, Ring: J Good, Necklaces: Oh, Poppy!, Sunnies: MNG by Mango

I had such a great time with my family this day. We popped into the Disney store and got each kid new jams and 1 toy. I quickly got a bang trim while the hubby loaded our new loot and we headed out to lunch. I seriously have the BEST FAMILY EVER! ;) The kids were both so well behaved and it was nice to be out and about all together for the afternoon.
Okay, are you sick in me in maxi dresses yet?! lol Well too bad! I love them and plan to wear this one like it's a sweat suit (it's just as cozy so why not?!). ;)

Bakers Shoes

I was thrilled when Bakers Shoes asked me to pick out a pair of summer sandals of my choice. I was given 4 style options (each in many different colors and fabrics) and I ended up falling in LOVE with the Roma in orange. This sandal retails for $39.95 (synthetic) and also come in gold, silver, and tan. I was looking for a great "everyday" summer shoe and I couldn't be happier with what I got!

Top: Swap w/ Kaityln (F21), Shorts: Old Navy, Teal Ring: House of Harlow, Shoes: C/O Bakers, Necklaces: Oh, Poppy!

How cute are these?! They are super cozy and didn't need to be broken in (umm, love that!). I also really love the idea of getting an everyday sandal in a great color like orange. What do you think? Need to make a trip to Bakers ASAP?! Well, if you live in the Chicago land area, they just had their grand re-opening at the store on State Street. Make sure you check them out! Also, check out their blog Shoeternity, such a great place to find other bloggers and how they style their Bakers shoes.
