Lucky Shops After Party - Jane By Design

After the Lucky Shops event at the Highline Studios, guests gathered at the Crosby Hotel. Settling in, people mingled by the bar. Soon, we entered a little theater to see a pre-screening of a new ABC Family show, Jane by Design. It will premiere on January 3 at 9PM/8C.
It's about a teenage high-schooler, Jane Quimby (played by Erica Dasher), who applies to be a fashion intern but mistakenly lands a job as an assistant to a high-powered executive, Gray Chandler Murray (played by Andie McDowell) at a fashion house, Donovon Decker. So now, it's her obstacle to juggle her life on the job, all while keeping the secret of her true identity.
The show was quirky & cute and of course, filled with tons of fashion. Below are some stills from the show (click to enlarge).
After the viewing, there was a bit of a Q&A panel with the star actress and the costume stylist for the series. They chatted about the inspirations, getting into the mindset of the roles, favorite designers & places to shop, etc.

Lucky Shops NY 2011 VIP Night

As you know, Lucky Magazine had their annual Lucky Shops event this past weekend (today is the last day, btw!) Dozens of designer collections were up for grabs up to 70% off. I had the most incredible experience being one of the VIP blogger correspondents of the night!

We all met at the Bloom Beauty Lounge to get blowouts & styling for our hair while we mingled & snacked :) I went for some curls - y'know to add some volume from my thin Asian hair lol. Thanks to Jackie's magic, she created a luscious look for me and I absolutely loved how my hair turned out. We also took a bunch of group shots -- when I get my hands on those, I'll repost them on my Twitter or Facebook pages!
I had the wonderful opportunity & luck to be paired up with Rachel Roy (the other bloggers each had a different designer to wear that night). I chose the mulberry sequined Liza dress, paired it with the Kimi black multi heel, and completed my outfit with the multi-wing doorknocker earrings & the cluster statement frontal necklace. I just added my gloves from H&M & oversized clutch from Barney's.

It just so happened that as we walked in through those Lucky Shops doors, Rachel Roy was on the red carpet! I was instantly escorted to take a photo with her :)
After some walking around the venue, with my date Andres, it was time for me to walk the carpet. I have no idea where those pics are going to be posted yet, but here are some that my boyfriend took with my camera.
I didn't do much shopping. Unfortunately, time goes by so fast when you're too busy mingling lol. But I did walk around & of course, I stopped at Geren Ford! The pieces are always functional, accessibly-priced, and modern. The collection was full of cute, versatile, feminine pieces. I mean, how adorable is that blue dress below?

I had such a lovely time & I was certainly in great company. Anticipation for Lucky Shops!

Lucky Mag + Express Preview Cocktail Party

Last night, I attended Lucky Magazine and Express's preview cocktail party at the penthouse rooftop of the Cooper Square hotel. The occasion was for the anticipation of the Express fashion show in Times Square this Saturday.

They are looking forward to breaking a record of sending the most models down the runway -- it's from 9am to 5pm in NYC if you're interested in attending; it's free for the public.
Anyway, at the event, guests enjoyed wine and amazing h'ordeuvres while socializing and taking in the incredible view. They were also able to dress up in Express accessories & pose for the photo guestbook (the photos haven't been added yet at this time, but I will probably share it on Facebook when they do appear).
It was nice seeing some familiar faces along with meeting new ones! (w/ Saneeta of Chic Inspector & Donna of Donna Daily)



And of course, we all received a cute little gift bag including an Express beaded bracelet, an Express v-neck t-shirt, Express coupon, Lucky Magazine, and a fast pass for the Express Rock the Sidewalk fashion show this Saturday.

Lucky Social Summer Jam

This past Wednesday night, I attended the Lucky [Magazine] Social Summer Jam. I spotted some AMAZING fashion bloggers in attendance, and it was exciting just to be there & be a part of it. It was held at Elsa & they provided guests with refreshing drinks at the open bar. Snacks were provided by Radish.
The Bumbys were also there at the event giving fashionistas their "fair and honest appraisals" of their appearance. They have been featured in the NY Times, and multiple publications. If you have not heard of them, they are an anonymous duo (Gill & Jill Bumby) and they basically type away on their manual typewriters a witty description of what they think of one's outfit.

I personally didn't dress up for it since my intention was to go and observe the scene & mingle for a bit, but I did have Jill type up her opinion about me just for fun. Part of it said: "Your smile is sweetly sincere. I think you have a close relationship with one of your grandmothers. You inherited her love of gaudy jewelry. It's fun! I think in 5 years you'll be wearing a red leather bra. The tiger's coming out." haha
I had a splendid time; it was lovely bumping into Kristy Elena and Nubia again & meeting other bloggers such as Lisa & marketing associate for Andean Collection, Attie.


And there were some great goodies in the gift bag! It includes a Rebecca Minkoff tote bag, neon sunglasses, a Lucky notebook, an Andean Collection bracelet, a cuff, and a lollipop.
