The weather is starting to get nice around here. (insert happy dance)  It's odd to me to be outside with no coat on in March, but I'll gladly take it! This is another example of everyday wear for me. And look, I'm wearing my hats more! ;) (see closet hat junkie post)

Outfit: Stay-cation Night 2

For the second night of our stay-cation we headed to the Harrington Inn and Spa in Geneva. This place is so romantic. Our room had a balcony that over looked water and a gazebo. Everything was so beautiful and antique looking. (*please note the lace drapes ;) It was pretty cool to stay in the same place that Bob Dylan and Brian Wilson had stayed as well! 

The plan was to get massages and then go to dinner in the hotel. As I said a couple of days ago we were on a bit of a "roll with the punches" weekend. My massage was not great (I ended up with not any upper back/neck relief that I so desperately  needed and got pretty badly bruised on my upper leg. Not ideal!) and the restaurant we wanted to go to was booked 3 hours out. (Yes, I realize that I just complained about a massage. I require them now that's I've had 2 spinal fusions so please keep that in mind. Okay, and yes I am spoiled ;)
We ended up drinking a bottle of champagne in our room and then gave in and ate at the bar to not wait. The night ended up being so fun! I guess when you are out with your best friend it really doesn't matter what you do!
We really enjoyed (and needed) the 2 nights away from the kids to relax and unwind. The timing was perfect too as it was our Valentine's Day, my hubby's B-day, and my B-day all rolled into one weekend of fun! (my b-day is next week).
What do you think of this Tinley Road silk dress? I love it, but wish I would have brought static guard and perhaps a steamer! Ahh, what can you do?!

Dressing to Music: M.I.A- Bad Girls

This song is SICK! This is honestly going to be an anthem song for so many girls! lol
No I don't want to die young, but the beats in this song are amazing. (If we are being honest when I sing it at home and my kids are around I say "life slow, die old, good girls do it well"! I'm not kidding...hope I didn't ruin how cool this song is for you!)
The video is bad ass and it just made me want to put a leather jacket on (well faux leather)! Here is the outfit I came up to while rocking out in my room to this:

Outfit: Meeting up with a Fellow Blogger Mom

I meet up with the lovely Nicolette of Momnivore's Dilemma on Wednesday night for drinks and good eats. It's always nice to meet a fellow blogger mom, but this was my first time hanging out with a fellow mother of an autistic child. It was WONDERFUL. Ok, well she is amazing and that's a giant part of it, but it was also really great to talk with someone who just gets what you're going through. We will for sure be hanging out again and she recently joined the CBN so now she's be out at all the great events too!

I decided to wear black jeans and a basic sweater for our casual meet up. Sometimes a neutral pallet is my favorite because you can jazz it up with accessories. I did just that! I LOVE my new arm candy (yes, both new) and of course finished the look off with the mints (shoe and jewel) and my color block bag.

I Am A Closet Hat Junkie

With the exception of the black and brown fedora, I have gotten all of these hats in the past 12 months! Can we talk about how often I do posts of me in hats? Umm, maybe 4 times this year! lol I wear them more then I post in them, but for the amount of hats I have, I should be posting 1 a week. Enter the realization that I have a closet hat addiction.
Realizing I have a problem is the first step. The second? No, not buying less hats, post me wearing them more! ;)
Now can we talk about how cute my 2 newest hats are. The green one is from Shop Frankies and the navy blue from Forever 21. See, hat junkie!! ;)

My date with Edward Cullen

I finally got to go see Breaking Dawn part 1 on Monday morning. I loved it! Yes, it was weird. Yes, it dragged a bit, but it did good by the book and that's all I care about. If you know me then you know I have read all 4 books 3 times and I love everything Twilight! GO TEAM EDWARD! LOL okay, now that that's out of my system, lets talk outfit. ;)
I went with a very chic look and added this great red necklace to accessorize. Did I feel overdressed to be at the movies at 10:00am? sure. But did I dress appropriate for my date with Edward? YES! I went out with the girlfriend for sushi after so by noon I blended in just fine.
I'd rather be over dressed then under dressed any day of the week!
Now onto my hair aka stringy mess. I need a hair cut BAD! Thinking I'll do a full overhaul (cut/ color) after the holidays but in the meantime I must lose a few inches STAT!
