Newly Remodeled Mario Tricoci (Schaumburg Location)

I was invited to the ribbon cutting event for the newly remodeled Schaumburg location of Mario Tricoci. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Mario Tricoci! I get my colored and hair cut there, I get my eyebrows waxed there, I get massages and facials there, bottom line, they are my go to when I want to get my pamper on. So obviously I was super excited to meet Mario Tricoci! ;) Here is what I wore to the event:

Top: Target, Blazer: Urban Outfitters, Pants: ASOS, Shoes: Shoemint (similar), Necklace: Shop Jules, Ball necklace: Jewelmint, Bracelet: C/O Kristin Hassan (style sold out), Stackable Ring: Baublebar

This location has been open for 19 years now and looks even more amazing! I didn't take pictures in the spa area because I felt rude (everyone knows to be quite in there! lol) but I did see a demo for the diamond tip microdurmabrasion. Yeah, mama wants one of those badly! Here are a few photos taken during the ribbon cutting.

Next up, enter a raffle and get my spa on! I was given a complementary wash, blow out, and curling, a bamboo infused massage and my mother-in-law got her nails done. So fun!

Tank: ASOS, Shirt: American Eagle, Jeans: Frankie B, Belt: Loft, Shoes: ShoeMint, Necklace: Shoedazzle, Quartz Ring: Free People, Gold band: Kohls

Is it winter here in the Chicago suburbs? We get snow for the first time, then it gets warm again. I'll take it, but it's still a bit weird not freezing outside with no coat on in mid January.
It was a day 3 hair for me (meaning I did not want to wash it! lol) so I braided a headband and put the rest into a bun at the nape of my neck. Super easy and I think super cute!
Now for the sad/great news. I LOVE this necklace. It goes with so many things and will be perfect for all the lighter colors that are in style this spring. Sadly since I have had 2 spinal fusions in the past 4 years I found that it was too heavy for me. ;( By hour 4 I was hurting. It's not crazy heavy, just too heavy for someone who's had 2 neck surgeries. So the great news is it's up for sale in my "shop my Jewelry" section and looking for a good home. ;)

Winter's Hottest Shoe Trends

Today, I bring you a guest post from Emma of ASOS! We had an amazing summer, but as the autumn weather transitions into winter, we're definitely looking out for the winter shoe trends. Enjoy!Shoes are a vital part of any woman’s wardrobe, as they are the perfect accessory to any outfit. You can instantly alter your outfit depending on the shoes you choose to complete your look. You can add instant dramatization by adding a sassy pair of high heels or go for a casual office look by adding a classic court shoe. Therefore it’s vital to choose the right shoes to compliment your winter wardrobe. So as we surrender to the clamour of the shops, first we must know what this season’s hottest shoe trends are.
Animal motifs have been a huge hit this winter and now we are seeing this trend on our shoes. Pay tribute to our furry little friends and try adding a dash of life to your shoes by incorporating animal print patterns or fur trim. This will instantly add flavor to your outfit, taking an everyday plain outfit to the next level. Reptile skins, as well as leopard prints have stormed our stores, so don’t be afraid to try out this new trend and take a walk on the wild side.

If you admire celebrities like Lady Gaga and Kate Moss and would love to emulate their style, you need to try out the fetish fad. This risqué trend has appeared in stores and if head to toe leather is too much for you, what better try this trend on than your shoes. Aggressive lacing and a vast array of buckles are used on our shoes to bring this trend to life. Whether you choose ankle boots or knee highs, lacing and buckles have featured greatly on boots this winter so make sure you invest in the perfect pair.
Wedges are not only part of your summer wardrobe. This trend has in fact carried on into winter, as we see wedges of all shapes and sizes on our runway. They are understated and elegant compared to the unusual designs of summer and have featured mainly on ankle boots. An alternative to wedges is the chunky heel. This can be that pivotal statement piece you need to complete your outfit. Chunky heels provide a much more secure heel for conditions that the winter weather brings and are ideal for providing extra comfort and stability. More refined than a wedge, they are great to pair with your bulky knits to create the perfect casual winter outfit.
If chunky heels aren’t for you, don’t worry as the sexy, stylish stiletto has also graced our runway. This winter stores have paid tribute to the ladylike chic designs of the 40’s and 60’s bringing back feminine allure. What better to top of an elegant, smart outfit that a pair of striking spike heels. Perfect for the office or perhaps a date, go all out and add a pinch of glamour to your outfit. Try this trend in either a pointed or rounded toe, as both styles are in this season. Remember height, elegance and grace is a look sought after this season so when styling up your pencil skirts and blouses, add a platform to create extra luscious long legs with any heel type.
Heeled loafers have replaced the summer flat loafers and socks in shoes is also a trend for the winter. This trend is admittedly not for everyone and many of us hate the socks in shoes look; yet it is a trend that has appeared in many collections this winter. Pair you favorite heels with a jazzy pair of socks or try a pair of tights if you can’t quite brave this new trend.

Materials that are in fashion this winter are leather, suede, patent and surprisingly satin. Any shoes you buy make sure it is in one of these luxurious materials, whether it’s a charming pair of heels or your new winter boot. Also don’t forget its autumn so remember autumnal colors like burgundy, chocolate, beige, black and dark blue are your best bets for winter.

How do you coat?

It's that time of year again folks, yes, it's coat time! Since I've spent the last 3 years making babies none of my coats fit. It's sad but exciting at the same time because this year I get to buy a new coat. I think I may get 2! ;) I'm loving the belted coats with the fur hoods, I'm loving the bold colored ones, but I'm also digging the poncho coats! What's a girl to do? What's your favorite? Who else is coat shopping this year?

You've got me blushing

Blouse: Vintage
Skirt: ASOS
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Necklace: Express
Quartz ring: Free People
Gold band ring: Kohls

I was feeling very pink this day! As I got ready I tried to keep to my feminine theme and paired this petal pink skirt with a cream blouse, rose gold necklace, peachy/orange ring, and a pink lip of course! ;)
Looking back I'm not super sure this blouse was the best top for this skirt, but I felt pretty in it and that's all that matters right?! What do you guys think? Hit or miss? It's not helping my case that the petals were not laying flat in these pics! ;) Think I may have just been twirling...I have been known to do that on occasion!
