This is what I wore to my cousin's baby shower. It was at a beautiful Italian restaurant and I was super excited to FINALLY wear this dress. I got it back at the Gigi Bottega event I went to and have been eyeing it in my closet waiting for the right event ever since.  I felt very 70's chic this day. See, you can never have too many maxi dresses (I seriously have a ridiculous collection)! I know some people think they are only good for tall people but as a 5'4" girl I'm here to tell you, that's just not true. Try one, you'll love it! ;)

How amazing is this dress?! I found it when I was in Lake Geneva over the weekend and I knew I needed to own it. Sadly for anyone else who wants it, is not found online and someone has already called DIBS on it. (everyone say thanks Gwen! lol) But you can find it at E Street Denim! ;) 

Now lets talk vests! I am gaga for vests this season. I have this denim one, a lace one, and just got a trench one too (totally saw Nicole over at Frankie Hearts Fashion wearing one and had to find my own asap!). What do you guys think? Do you love vests over dresses or not so much?

Sunday we celebrated my mother-in-laws b-day. We all pitched in and cooked/baked a dish and had a wonderful brunch with the family. We had beautiful weather and ended up playing outside after. The kids had so much fun! 

This is my "eat all you can possible eat" look! lol Stretchy pants, loose top, what's not to like?! And I wouldn't be myself if I didn't add a 6 inch wedge to top it all off. 

On a different note, I want to thank everyone who comes here and reads my silly blog everyday. You guys are the best and I am blessed to have such a great bunch of people in my life! I don't think I say it enough but THANK YOU!!! xo

I don't know about you, but I am so excited for colored shorts and denim shorts alike this spring/summer! Last year I finally started wearing shorts and this year I'm taking it up a notch and got them in a few colors. No matter what your budget, there are great choices out there. I actually got a pair of green from Loft and yellow and blue from Old Navy! (3 pair for under $50...bargain shopper here folks!) If I find I'm loving them I may splurge and invest in my favorite pair!

Bag Mania

Has anyone else been turning heads at the amount of amazing bags that are around right now?! I am usually a jewelry girl, but lately I want every bag I see (so unlike me). This is me on a regular mommy day. This outfit is as cozy as jams, but it's a bit more fashionable! ;) What's not to love about that?

Can we talk about how cute these flats are?! I know I'm usually a heel gal, but I've added a few flats as of late to the rotation. I love these because the are very cozy and the color is amazing. (I'm pretty sure they make these in hot pink and teal too!) I would say go a 1/2 size down though, the fit is a bit loose. But I love that, so I got my size. ;) Nothing worse then breaking in shoes, with these that is not an issue as the fit is loose and does not hurt your heel or sides of feet. Score!

Is it winter here in the Chicago suburbs? We get snow for the first time, then it gets warm again. I'll take it, but it's still a bit weird not freezing outside with no coat on in mid January.

It was a day 3 hair for me (meaning I did not want to wash it! lol) so I braided a headband and put the rest into a bun at the nape of my neck. Super easy and I think super cute!

Now for the sad/great news. I LOVE this necklace. It goes with so many things and will be perfect for all the lighter colors that are in style this spring. Sadly since I have had 2 spinal fusions in the past 4 years I found that it was too heavy for me. ;( By hour 4 I was hurting. It's not crazy heavy, just too heavy for someone who's had 2 neck surgeries. So the great news is it's up for sale in my "shop my Jewelry" section and looking for a good home. ;)

Double Date night

This past Friday, the hubbs and I went out for dinner with another couple. Kristin and I talked blogs and the boys talked music (we seriously could have been at different tables our convos were so separate)! lol
We had a wonderful time and it reminded me how much I love (and need to spend more time with) my fellow mommy friends!

I FINALLY wore my Mango maxi dress!! I got this bad boy months ago and have been debating having it shortened. (it's soooo long on me!!) I ended up adding a belt and pulling it up a bit, as well as adding a 6 inch heel. Hey, a girls got to do what a girls got to do! I love it even more now! I'm not sure how yet, but I am going to try to style it a bunch of different ways so I can keep wearing it this fall/winter! Maybe a knit over, maybe a blazer, we'll see.... ;)

Lisa: LOVE!! I love the vintage feel and look, I love the comfort factor, and I love how chic they look with a great blouse! As a mother of 2, I think my favorite part has to be the comfort factor. What's better then feeling like you're in your jams but looking like you're ready to hit the town?!
I own some wide leg jeans, but nothing this wide...YET! I think I'd like them in a solid burnt orange, deep green, or maroon. I guess I'm a jewel tone kind of a wide leg gal! ;)

Ryan: Comfort?! COMFORT?! Babe, I thought you were running a fashion blog here, not "Sweatpants Monthly" (that's going to be my new publication by-the-way). But seriously, look at all the pics above - you have to weight 95 lbs. to pull this off and even then I'm not sure it works. It looks impractical unless you're like Blaire Waldorfensloot above and on-your-way to some SoHo gallery opening. I'm sorry ladies and I may be wrong (or as my wife says, "am always") but pick a nice, long dress, or wear some damn pants. Pick a side and don't be all Switzerland on this bitch. Now babe, wear did you put those Adidas track pants that I find so "comfortable?"

This is my favorite time of year! I love when you can wear sweaters with no coats and how cute are my new boots?! I am selling my old crop boots in "shop my shoes" because I wanted a pair that had buckles and now a year later I found a pair!!! I guess good things do come to those who wait. ;)
I paired my over sized sweater with a pair of skinny jeans and a few pieces of gold jewelry. This look was perfect for taking the little man to school, running errands, and later that day having dinner with my family for Ry's grandma's 82nd b-day!
