I just love this time of year! It's not quite fall yet, but the cooler night weather lets us know it's on the way! I know most people love summer, but my favorite season is fall! I love the smells, the colors, the cooler temps, I love it all! (anyone else gotta have those pumpkin spice lattes?) Plus you get to wear knits with shorts, so what's not to love?! ;)
I'm trying to get more use out of my summer wardrobe by transitioning some pieces (like these shorts) into my fall wardrobe. What do you guys think? Do you were some pieces all year round or do you rotate your closet? I generally rotate my closet, but this year I'm keeping more pieces for all seasons. We'll see how it goes....

For my father-in-laws B-day, we headed over to their house for bbq pork chops and lots of other great eats! It was a casual affair, so I kept my glasses on to give my eyes a well needed rest.
I just love this tank. I bought it when I was pregnant last season, hoping to one day fit in it. I finally do! ;)
Okay, can we talk about shorts? What do you guys think? I NEVER wear shorts. I've never been a girl who wears shorts, I prefer dresses and skirts. I've been this way my entire life (mostly because I've always had shorter legs with muscle thighs and shorts get shorter every year!!!). I like the length of these. I feel like a 5 inch inseam is appropriate for a mother of 2, no? I just can't do a 3 inch one! lol I'm turning into such a old bitty! lol

For our last night in Vegas, we decided to have dinner at TAO. We ate there last time we were in Vegas and it was simply amazing (we also went to the night club last time, but this time we were just looking for some great eats)! Since it was in the hotel we stayed at, it was a done deal! The drinks were amazing and the sushi was hands down the best I'd ever had! Yes, that good!

I am kinda obsessed with this top right now. It has enough sparkle around the neck to not wear lots of accessories, but since we were in Vegas, I felt the need to take it to the next level! lol I also LOVE my new Jewelmint ring. I love the wrap around turquoise. Very versatile for the summer months ahead.

How amazing is this dress?! I got it a while back before I knew I was going to Vegas, so I was super excited I was finally going to be able to wear it! I love how it's longer in the back. So fun! I also was feeling nostalgic and brought some of the same jewelry I wore last time we went to Vegas (back in Jan. 2010) and also wanted to visit some of our favorite places. Ryan talked me into going to a steak house this night, but it worked out great because they had some of the best seafood I've ever eaten! I'm a sucker for anyplace that serves sushi or fish and veggies!

In other news, how handsome is my hubby?! I'm a lucky lady!

I love the mixing of stripes here. Stripes on top and stripes stitched in the maxi skirt! I am such a dress and skirt wearer (I only own 4 pair of shorts), so on a windy day like this one, it's ideal to go long. I do have a toddler who likes to crawl under me as well! Dangerous in a short dress for sure wind or no wind! lol

On a different note, my hair clearly needs some work. I usually get a semi permanent gloss every 4 months and it's about that time! My hubby is pushing for bangs (as usual!) and I want to grow them out for another year! I do need a trim though, it's getting a bit wispy! Any suggestions? Style suggestions? Color suggestions? Length suggestions? I feel like a change. Nothing to dramatic (lets be honest, I'd never go super short) but something new for sure!

Last time I wore this dress, it was for lounging around the house. I knew it was super cozy and on this cool spring night, it was just the thing for dinner and a movie. Well, dinner at the movie I should say. With the kiddo's over at the grandparents for an overnight (first time in the past 6 months!), we headed over to a premium theater and ate, drank, and watched Bridesmaids. The movie was adorable, and me and the hubby spent the entire night laughing, kissing, smiling, and being newlyweds! (We've been married since January of 08, but it's been babies, surgerys, and our little boys therapies ever since.) It was really nice to get a night out! I love dating my hubby again!

Murder Mystery Themed B-day Party

My character, Tanya Tease, was the personal assistant to the millionaire who was murdered. We were all asked to show up between 6:00pm and 6:30pm for the reading of his will.
This party was amazing! The food, the signature cotton candy flavored martinis, the outfits everyone wore, and most importantly, the amount of fun everyone had! Such a great night out! Here are some pictures from the night:





I had never been to a party like this before! We had fake money to bribe and blackmail people with and objectives that needed to be met throughout the night. There was also another murder while we were there. By the end there were prizes for best dressed, most money, and most dramatic! Like I said so fun! Happy Birthday Kristin, your party was amazing!!

After a week of taking it easy, and not wearing anything but sweatpants it was so nice to wear a dress! I love this maxi dress because it is short! By that I mean I don't have to wear heels with it. (Most of my maxi dresses require 3-5 inch heels so I don't trip over the material.)
We had Easter in the morning with my hubby's side of the family with lots of yummy food and a egg hunt. From there we went to a second party with my side of the family with more yummy food, a desert competition, and another egg hunt/kite flying/bubble blowing/baseball playing party! It was a wonderful day and this dress was the perfect pick. My feet were not tired by the end, I ate all I wanted (hey, there's no waistband in a dress!), and it was still casually dressy enough for both parties! I hope everyone had a wonderful day with their families! xo

On Saturday night I attended my friends bachelorette party. We had great Mexican food, drinks were flowing, relocated at a beautiful suite at the House of Blues hotel, naughty gifts were given, male entertainment went down, oh and did I mention drinks were flowing?! lol
I had such a fun night even though I bailed before 11. (Hey, I still have a 4 month old who gets a middle of night feeding! Oh, and my kids get up at 6am for the day!)
It was great to see my friends in an out setting and it looked like Bonnie had a wonderful time! Here are a few pictures from the night!

This sweater is my new favorite! I got it from Bonnie over at Flashes of Style in her "shop" section. I love shopping other peoples closets! What's that saying? One persons trash is another persons treasure. Well, this sweater is FAR from trash, but you get where I'm going with this! ;)
