Outfit: Everyday Wear

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Tee and Belt: Express, Purse: Rachel Zoe for QVC, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: Target, Bracelet: C/O Kristin Hassan, Necklace and pave stackable rings: Stella and Dot, Stackable rings: Shop Jules

Here is yet another example of everyday wear. On this day I had tons of errands to run and jeans and a tee was all I had time for. Yes folks, I went out with absolutely NO makeup! (seriously! lol) So unlike me, but what can I say, I'm a busy girl. ;)
In other news I am OBSESSED with my new belt from express! I think belts can be great accessories so I was super excited when I saw this turquoise one. What's your favorite accessory to jazz up jeans and a tee?

Outfit: Everyday Wear

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketTop: Dainel Rainn via ThirtySomethingFashion Box Service, Jeans: Express (similar), Shoe: Urban Outfitters, Bracelets: C/O Kristin Hassan, Earrings: Jewelmint, Stackable Rings: Shop Jules, Pave stackable rings: Stella & Dot, Sunnies: Loft (similar)

How amazing is this top? I just love Daniel Rainn. I sold one of my favorite tops of his because it no longer fit me. Obviously I was sad that I couldn't find it again to replace it.
When I received this blouse in my box from ThirtySomethingFashion I was BEYOND excited! It's great for everyday wear or a night out on the town.
I wore this outfit for errands, family time, and well, a normal day! What do you think? I am a big fan of denim paired with flats and a blouse. Simple, chic, and super easy to wear from day to night!

GiGi Bottega in Evanston

Dress: Threadsence, Necklace: Pree Brulee, Shoes: Shoemint (similar), Ring: Jewelmint, Bangles: T plus J Designs, Clutch: Shoedazzle

Myself and Kaitlyn went to a boutique party at GiGi Bottega last week and had such a wonderful time. The store is right in downtown Evanston (612 Davis Street Evanston, IL 60201) and carries a wide range of designers including BB Dakota and Blu Pepper. The boutique has just recently opened and I think the set up is beautiful (she even found gorgeous hardwood floors under what was once carpeted! Score!!). Here are some photos I took while walking around the store. We got there first so we were able to get some great shots! ;) The first photo is of me and the store owner Gina (how adorable is she!?).

Yes, fellow CBN blogger Mariposa of the Clever Clipper was there too!
I tried on about 8 items and ended up leaving with the 2 I loved the most. Darn you budget (shakes fist in air)!! I am kicking myself for not snagging that amazing neon BB Dakota dress, but I can always go back. ;)
If you are in the Evanston area, Gigi Bottega is for sure a place to check out. Besides having great inventory (clothes, jewelry, bags, scarfs, etc) the boutique is beautiful and the owner is beyond sweet! You can check out her website here or email questions to shop@gigibottega.com. (Open Mon-Sat. 10-7 and Sun. 12-5)

There was also a pop-up trunk show for Stella & Dot at the boutique that night. Here are some photos of their classic designs and a bit of their amazing spring line. The necklace in the first photo is called the Zahara Bib Necklace....SWOON!

You can check out their full jewelry line here. If you are wanting to throw a Stella & Dot party or order any items you can contact Suzette Lipker at suzettelipker@gmail.com (or www.stelladot.com/suzettelipker). She is so sweet and said she would drive to many different towns to have parties. (I live 50 mins from Evanston and my house was not too far for her to travel!)
Happy Shopping ladies (and gents)!

Dress: Moschino from Rent the Runway, Earrings: Gerard Yosca from Rent the Runway, Diamond Necklace: C/O Anjolee, Bracelet: C/O Kristin Hassan, Ring set: Stella and Dot

On Sunday myself and my hubby's side of the family went downtown to see "Come Fly Away" the Broadway musical. We went to brunch before and had such a wonderful time. The show was alright. The music was actually Frank Sinatra voice but there was a live orchestra. That was the best part! The show was 85 minutes of dancing (with no real story line) and not really sure why but about 3/4 of the way through everyone was dancing in their underwear. By the end everyone was in dresses and pant outfits again but I'm not really sure what the point of it was. I go to the theater every year and this was not my favorite show. I think Frank himself would have been like "what the hell" at a few points! lol  Having said that, the dancers were very talented and it was a fun show to watch.  All and all the day was wonderful. I always have so much fun when the 6 of us go out!
I felt super glamorous in the Moschino dress I rented and wanted to twirl all day long! ;) I also felt very glamorous because all the beautiful jewelry I was wearing. Isn't it amazing how some sparkle and diamonds can light a person up?!

Dress: Swap c/o Kaitlyn
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Bangles: Baublebar (sold out)
Heart Ring: Jewelmint
Gold band ring: Kohls
Necklace: Stella and Dot

This past weekend we celebrated my sister-in-laws recent engagement with a super dinner bash! It was such a beautiful night filled with laughter, amazing food, champagne, cake, and stories of what's to come for the happy couple!
I wore a dress I got from my last swap with Kaitlyn and I really felt beautiful in it! It was a bit big in the bust (damn you well endowed Katie), but I figured heck with it, I'm wearing this one! I paired it with black shoes and black with gold jewelry. I know that wearing black with brown used to be taboo, but I just love mixing neutrals! What do you guys think? Ever mix black and brown or do you sick to the old school rules?

**Don't forget, you have until Sunday at 10pm to use code SADBBLOG10 on Kristin Hassan's site to receive $10 OFF ANY PIECE OF JEWELRY! Shipping is always free too! Happy shopping!

Dress: Victoria's Secret
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Green Ring: Modcloth
Quartz ring: Free people
Gold band: Kohls
Charm necklace: Stella & Dot (sold out)
Earrings: Jewelmint
Bag: Rachel Zoe

I have been waiting FOREVER to wear this dress. I finally decided screw it, I don't need to wait for a fancy night out, I'll just wear it! Truth be told I'd rather be over dressed then under dressed any day of the week. ;)
This was my look for dinner at the movies. Yes, at the movies. We went back to our old favorite spot. We love it because your seats recline, you have a waiter in the theater, and you get a pillow and blanket.
Turns out they have new ownership and it's a totally different place. It's more affordable now, but honestly, it's not as nice. I'd rather pay the 7 extra dollars to have the old style and personal attention back. In this economy though, I guess I understand how a cheaper, sports bar style, serve your self, seat yourself, no waiter after the first 20 minutes of the movie would do better, but that doesn't mean I have to like it! ;) At least the seats still recline and you get a pillow and blanket! And the food was good so I guess my rant is over.
Now can we talk about how I wore this figure hugging dress and then ate nachos and burgers with sweet potato fries? lol I'm a thinker!

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend! New posts will start back up on Tuesday! xo

Hand-me-downs and hangouts

Photobucket
Photobucket

Dress: Hand-me-down c/o Katrina (American Rag)
Shoes: Forever 21
Bangle set: Kristin Hassan (this set sold out, but so many other great cuffs and sets!)
Red and gold bangle: Baublebar
Earrings: Jewelmint
Pendant Necklace: Piperlime
Charm Necklace: Stella & Dot (sold out)
Ball Ring: Discovery
Gold band: Kohls

Nail Color: Sally Hansen-Commander in Chic

Lets start off talking about this awesome dress. I mentioned that when Katrina was leaving the country she gave me a bag of clothes and goodies, this is one of my new favorites! I don't know if it counts as a hand-me-down if the tags are still on it when you get it, but either way, THANK YOU Katrina! I love this dress!
I decided there wasn't enough jewelry I could wear this day! lol Usually the rule of thumb is take one piece off before you leave and honestly, I did! (so you can imagine how much I intended on wearing out this night! lol)
We met up with friend at a local bar for a 30th B-day celebration for one of our favorite guys and had a night out with our friends! What's better then free clothes, a night out, and great company? NOT MANY THINGS! ;)
