Outfit: Modern Day Snow White

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Top: American Eagle (similar) , Skirt: Hive & Honey via Piperlime, Shoes: C/O Just Fabulous, Ring: Modcloth, Bangle: Express, Gold Band: Kohls

I get dressed, come downstairs and my hubby says "hey there snow white". I was confused for a moment, I mean I am 1 of 2 princesses in our home but then I realized what he meant. Okay, I'm good with it. I didn't plan to dress like snow white, but I will embrace it! ;)
Now lets talk shoes. I am OBSESSED with these! I had an outfit in mind to wear them with, but I need warmer weather. (No worries, I will be wearing said outfit soon!)
I was super excited when I walked by them with my yellow maxi and saw how pretty the 2 colors looked together. What do you think? Too Disney or nice color blocking?

The glass cuff from Express is currently for sale in the "shop my jewelry" section.

Holiday Outfit

Photobucket
Photobucket
Dress: MNG by Mango, Jacket: The Desert Foxx's shop my closet, Shoes: Alloy, Tights: Modcloth, Necklace: Jewelmint, Ring: TplusJ Designs, Earrings: House of Harlow, Bag: Michael Kors

This was my Christmas Eve look. I love that this jacket was bought from a fellow blogger's shop my closet section and I think it was the perfect color for a holiday outfit!
I kept it simple yet classy in this black wrap dress with black and gold detail accessories. I know it's a bit matchy matchy with the gold and black ring, necklace, earrings, and bag, but it all looked so good together as I set the outfit out on my bed.
By hour 8 I was second guessing my choice of 5 inch heels, but all and all I loved this look. What do you think? (I felt a bit retro sturdiest, but in a good way;)

Pumpkin Patch

Top American Eagle, Jeans Forever 21, Socks Modcloth, Boots UrbanOg, Earrings Jewelmint

Another Fall tradition of ours is to meet up with my sisters and brothers and their kids (we have made 7 grand kids for my parents...so far) and we go to the Bumpkin. There is a bouncy house, tractor rides, a petting zoo, pumpkin patch, and a hay maze. We had so much fun this year! (errrr, I mean, the kids did!) And let me say that I did not plan on going in the bouncy maze, my son got stuck and mom to the rescue! Let's all thank Ryan for laughing at me and taking pictures! Thanks babe!

I decided to wear a flannel I got last year around this time. I love the colors in it and it went perfectly with my black skinny jeans and black boots. For added warmth I went with a knee sock as well.

I will leave you now with a cute shot of my son running through the hay maze. We actually had to pull him out of there when we wanted to go! He loves a good fort/maze! lol

color blocking and leather

Top: Forever 21 (2009)
Skirt: Forever 21 (2009)
Belt: Urban Outfitters (2010)
Tights: Modcloth
Boots: Colin Stuart (2009)
Earrings and Cuff: Express (2009)
Ring: Banana Republic (2010)
Faux leather jacket: Forever 21 (2009)

I really love taking a few pieces that don't really stand out and combining them to make a stand out outfit. When creating a color blocking look you can really mix any colors as long as they are solid! Since I was headed out to dinner and another one of the hubbys rock shows I went with a smoky eye and a nude gloss lip and topped the look off with my faux leather jacket.
I have to say, I'm really enjoying fitting back into my pre-baby clothes. I feel like I have an entire new wardrobe.
In an unrelated topic, does it help if I list the years I got the items in? If I don't write a year, then it's from this year. I get lots of questions regarding when I got things so I thought this may help. Helpful? Annoying?

Wrigley post and giveway

I was contacted by Wrigley a couple of weeks ago and asked to participate in a fall challenge. There are 2 parts to this. I first received a bag of candy and gum to help inspire me.
Photobucket
This posed the question How do these Wrigley products "inspire" your look for fall? At first I was like, they don't! But then I started to think about it and where I pull my inspiration from when i usually get dressed. I generally get dressed to music or go for a look that I've seen in a magazine or other fashion blog and put my own spin on it.
I realized that after looking at all the colors, patterns, and textures of the items above, that I was very inspired!! Here are the candy's that got the wheels turning:
Photobucket
I loved the neon colors of the skittles blenders and the colors on the box of 5 swerve tropical flavor gum! Then tropical got me thinking about birds, then I started thinking about animals and animal print and that brought me to this skirt! I really enjoy the color and texture combo here!

What do you guys think of this outfit? I really loved the pattern mixing of the short and tights but I kept it all black at the same time. I also found myself OBSESSED with this ring. I got so many compliments on it and I was playing around with it all night. Hope you love it as much as I do!

Dress: Victoria's Secret
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Green Ring: Modcloth
Quartz ring: Free people
Gold band: Kohls
Charm necklace: Stella & Dot (sold out)
Earrings: Jewelmint
Bag: Rachel Zoe

I have been waiting FOREVER to wear this dress. I finally decided screw it, I don't need to wait for a fancy night out, I'll just wear it! Truth be told I'd rather be over dressed then under dressed any day of the week. ;)
This was my look for dinner at the movies. Yes, at the movies. We went back to our old favorite spot. We love it because your seats recline, you have a waiter in the theater, and you get a pillow and blanket.
Turns out they have new ownership and it's a totally different place. It's more affordable now, but honestly, it's not as nice. I'd rather pay the 7 extra dollars to have the old style and personal attention back. In this economy though, I guess I understand how a cheaper, sports bar style, serve your self, seat yourself, no waiter after the first 20 minutes of the movie would do better, but that doesn't mean I have to like it! ;) At least the seats still recline and you get a pillow and blanket! And the food was good so I guess my rant is over.
Now can we talk about how I wore this figure hugging dress and then ate nachos and burgers with sweet potato fries? lol I'm a thinker!

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend! New posts will start back up on Tuesday! xo

I am in love with this blouse! I can't believe it took me so long to wear, but I've had this bad boy for a few months now. Since we were headed to an outdoor concert venue where there would be a LOT of eating and drinking happening, I decided to go with this chic but cozy look!
Below is a pic of me and Ryan lounging at the show.

Now on a completely unrelated note, here is a picture of my new favorite treat. Chocolate covered caramels with sea salt on top! My mother-in-law found them at Whole Foods and now I am addicted! They are stupid good...promise!

Dressing to Music: MGMT "Kids"

I LOVE THIS SONG! It is on at our house often and we have many family dance parties to it! ;) This day, I dressed to it and then oddly enough danced in it again at a party!

Dress: Modcloth
Shoes: Victoria's secret
Earrings: Erin Gallagher Jewelry
Heart Ring: Jewelmint
Gold Ring: Kohls
Purple wrap bracelet: Baublebar

I am gaga for this dress! I wanted it and it was sold out, so I gave my email and hoped that one day they would tell me it's back it stock. 3 weeks later guess what's back into inventory?! Yay! I just love the lace and the print! I am also loving the color peridot in my earrings with the purple and gold in my wrap bracelet! The outfit just kinda came together as I jammed out in my room! What do you think? Loving the navy, gold, purple, and green combo or not so much?

Floral and Lace

Top:Free People
Shorts: Old Navy
Shoes: Target
Lace Bandeau: Target
Sunnys: Modcloth
Bracelet: Express
Heart Ring: Jewelmint
Gold Ring: Kohls
Leaf Necklace: Forever 21
Charm necklace: Self made

I just love this top! The floral print, the lace around the neck, the uneven bottom, the razor back...what's not to love?! ;) I decided since it was about 90 degrees out that I would just wear a lace bandeau under it and not a tank. I was very glad I made this choice as we were outside all afternoon. I love the pairing of the top with a simple black short, some layered necklaces, and a few simple rings. I can't wait to wear it with skinny jeans, and layer it up in the fall! Thanks for shopping my closet everyone! You guys got me this great top! ;)

It was time for a new look so I went to Mario Tricoci and let my favorite boy/girl (dye/cut) duo do their magic on me! Here is me before:
Photobucket

And here is me after:

Photobucket

I had them take 3 inches off, frame my face up a bit, and add some carmel color under! I'm probably going to go back in the next few months and add some more color and take another inch or 2 off, but this is all my neck could stand! lol It was seriously painful to get this done so soon after surgery!
What do you think? I feel like a new person! I hadn't had anything done cut wise since November 2010 and the last time I had foils was 3 years ago. It was for sure time for an update. Hope you love it as much as I do!

Guest Post: Kenzi from The Cardigan Queen

Hi! Kenzi here from The Cardigan Queen. I’m helping out over here while Lisa’s recovering from her surgery. (Get well soon, Lisa!) I’m actually a little nervous about this! Because this is my very first guest post ever!! It’s kind of a big deal to me! Okay, deeeep breaths!
Another first for me is these outfit photos. (You see, my blog is still a baby blog. It’s only been up and running for a few months now.) So far, my outfit posts have been right in the vicinity of my lil ol’ apartment when I take them myself. This time I actually ventured outside of my comfort zone and went scoping out some places. I think they turned out alright. It was getting kind of windy and dark as I was taking them. It’s getting ready to storm. The wind kept blowing my hair & those fluttery sleeves in my face! But I got a few good pictures in any way! I think I was creepin’ out the kids riding their bikes around so I decided it was time to pack up & head home.

Don’t you hate it when you have a great outfit in mind and you’re so excited to try wear it, and then when you go to try it on its just…. Ehhh. That happened to me today. Since I’m posting on Lisa’s blog I was going to wear this adorable teal knit tank dress from Express that I snagged right out of her closet. I even had a few different ideas in mind how to style it. I had a green & blue tye-dye tank to go over it. Nope. I had a scarf I was going to use as a head band or belt. Nope & Nope. (the scarf was at my mom’s) Leggings underneath. Nope.
Nothing was working for me. Nothing against the dress, because it’s simple & classic & I love it. The styling Gods were just not on my side today. So plan “B”. I wore this outfit a couple weeks ago to the bf’s family dinner. His grandparents were in town visiting from Belgium. They don’t speak English, so I at least had to look nice right? Actually, his grandfather speaks some but his accent is so thick I can barely understand him. Well, we went to a nice Italian restaurant. It was a nice evening out. I bought these denim leggings specifically for the occasion. And I never thought you’d see the day where my booty was in some “jeggings” (I hate that word) . But I actually am in love with them! Super comfy!
Well, I’m glad Lisa let me help out!! Leave her lots of love while she’s gone!!
Now that you’ve all “listened” to my mindless chatter, I’m heading back over to the home station. Stop by & say hello if you’d like.
